I used a pack of 32 nappies to make the 2 tier cake. Inside the bottom layer, I've hidden some goodies - clothing, teethers - and around the top layer I've arranged some vests around the outside. I even had a go at making some baby sock roses. They are seriously so cute!! And suprisingly easy to make.
This little project is for my Cousin and her husband who welcomed little Willow into the world. I really enjoyed doing this.

Pink Gem designs have a challenge blog! A Gem of a Challenge is a monthly challenge and this month there is a sketch set by the founder and owner, Janet.
I love Pink Gem Designs stamps! They are super cute and so versatile. It was actually Janet who got me blogging in the first place, almost a whole year ago!
The card above is my creation for the sketch challenge and I've used Mimi with chicks. Isn't she just darling?! I've coloured her in, using my inkpads as usual. The plastic flower is from Heidi Swapp, and the sentiment comes from Inkadinkadoo. The papers are Basic Grey "Lemonade".

Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog has the challenge of making an easel card. I love this style of card. So simple and lovely to look at! I've done mine for Mum for mothers day.
I've used Penny Black stamps from the "Bubbly" collection and coloured them in with my ink pads as normal. The papers are Bloom & grow from My Minds Eye, and the little MUM fabric label is from Junkitz.
Also using up my scraps, I've punched my own flowers & added some gems from my stash.

I feel like I haven't blogged for ages or even crafted for that matter. Hopefully I'm back to normal now. I need papercraft to keep me sane! LOL
I've not taken part in a challenge for ages either so I thought I'd get some done this week. Whiff of Joy has one of my favourite colour combo's as their challenge theme this week. I've used the new "Cool Oakly" which I won from Fran's candy. I've had this for weeks but this is his first outing! I realised aswell as I was colouring him in that I actually only have one shade of brown ink pad! How bad is that?! Its Tea Dye distress ink from Ranger, but I think it did the job. I've used a mix of papers from MME, basic grey and doodlebug design, some old string and a button I had from an old jacket of mine. The stamped sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo. I loved working with Oakly and will be using him quite alot me thinks.

My layout is of DD on her 3rd birthday, well, all dressed up! I drew a freehand squiggly frame for the picture onto some "Hopscotch Girl" paper by K&Co, added some rub ons from Basic grey "two Scoops", a few sparkles and a satin bow. The hearts were part of a prize I won and I believe they are Martha Stewart Lace Heart punches.

I don't know if I am a bit late with this layout for the challenge but I'll show it anyway. I actually did this the day the challenge was released but I've not had much of a chance to enter it! All About Me has the challenge of "the year you were born". I did a bit of a google search for 1978 but it was doom and gloom, like serial killers being found and the pope dying, which of course is a huge part of the history for that year, just not something I wanted to include on my layout. The commodores were number one on the day I was born with "3 times a lady" which is a lovely song but it still wasnt right for what I wanted, so I finally stuck with "Once upon a time, in 1978..." and don't I look quite the princess sat there in my lacy dress? Quite scary that I look at this pic and see every inch of my son... though he doesnt wear dresses, LOL.
The papers I used are from Basic grey - Eskimo kisses & wisteria, flowers are from Heidi swapp, lace is from John Lewis and the chipboard is Brenda Walton for K&Co.

These weeks are really flying aren't they?? I cannot believe we have hit march already!! Well, this is the final challenge for february for scrapwhispers. I very nearly didnt get to do this one, I've had a really tough, personal week but I did and while its not one of my better efforts, I quite like how it turned out. The challenge this week for scrapwhispers is to use the phrase "The long and the short of it" on your layouts. This was a real tough one for me, I had photos of dodgy haircuts, giraffes, but I just stuck with these ones of my DD having her hair done in a posh London Salon. She was so good and the photos fitted really well with the title. While this may seem a tricky challenge, there really is so much scope for it. Come and play along!!!
