Another Tiddly Inks shaker card

Here is the other shaker card, as promised. This Image from Tiddly Inks is called "Take me away" and this is what I am aiming for this very evening. A nice relaxing bubble bath. Usually my bath time consists of 2 little monkys who cover each other in the bubbles or one particular monkey who tries to climb in!! Inside the shaker part I've put a few clear dew drops. Some of them move but some are stuck.. I think they were a bit too wide for the foam pads I used. Never mind, I like the idea of floating bubbles anyway. Same as yesterday's card, I've added a little bit of lace around the frame and a few tea roses. The papers are MME Tickled Pink. The countdown to bedtime has begun so wish me luck for a bath like this one. :)

Shake it!!

I've just bought another couple of images from Tiddly inks and Thought I'd have a try at the tiddly Inks challenge - Which is to make a shaker card. I don't think I've ever done a shaker card before and I actually quite liked it! I've used "catch my heart", and DD came out from school today with some gold heart sequin so I borrowed a couple of those to put in my shaker bit. The sketch I used was from Cute card Thursday. I've done another shaker card with a different Tiddly Inks image but you'll have to wait for that one.

Big Wishes

I can't get over just how adorable this image is! As I was colouring it in I kept thinking "I want cake!!" LOL Its Big Wishes jelly bean from Tiddly Inks, digi stamp. I followed a couple of challenges for this card. Colour create has Chocolate, Strawberry and cream colour scheme and the sketch I used was from Sketch saturday. These scrummy papers are are tickled pink by MME, and a bit of BG Hopscotch. Lovely strokeable patterns.... or is that just me?? :p

Basic Grey Thank you Teacher

I've been getting back into making cards again recently. Super quick and easy, but therapeutic at the same time. This one is for DD's teacher. Its a little bit (ok, a lot) early but I'm trying to stay more prepared and organised this year.... :s I'm entering this one into the Basic Grey challenges where there is a lovely sketch to follow. I've used the Hopscoth collection. Its sooo pretty! The image is a digi stamp from Claudia and co and as usual she has been coloured in with my promarkers. That blackboard is my favourite thing!

Scrapwhispers blog hop

Our lovely Nilsa has come up with a lovely tutorial for bunting (or banners). These are everywhere at the moment for cards, scrapbooking, home decor, everywhere! I thought I'd make one for a valentines display, even though it's not celebrated much over here, Why not break the mould every now and then? And it actually looks lovely with the roses I got. For mine I used Echo Park Be Mine papers and element stickers. Want to give it a try?? Hop back on over to the scrapwhispers blog for the DT hop list! Don't forget we also have our smurf challenge on for you as well!!

Something a little different.

I was browsing blogdom the other day and as one blog led to another I found a treasure trove of projects. DD over my shoulder, liked the look of a flowery headband and asked if I would make her one. Of course I couldn't refuse. So off I went to the local supermarket and came across a pack of 10 headbands for the bargain price of a £1 and with life getting in the way they ended up just stuck on my craft desk. Last friday morning was DD's school disco to mark the beginning of half term and she declares that I hadn't made her the headband I had promised and she really, really wanted to wear it for the disco. So being the good mother that I occassionally am, there I was at 8 in the morning sewing this together. I quickly knitted a flower, then I pulled out one of the yo yo flowers I'd made a while back and sewed them together. DD was a very happy bunny and of course came home asking if I could make more for her friends. Yesterday, while out browsing, I found the same headbands in packs of 10.. 3 packs for a £1. How can I resist?? What do you think??

Scrapwhispers - Smurfin' Around

Happy Valentines Day! Any plans for you? Nothing planned here but I did get a beautiful bunch of Roses. I love getting flowers. I can't get over how its mid february already!! How did that happen? I must pay attention more. Do you remember the Smurfs? I used to love watching this show when I was a kid, with Gargamel and Azriel trying to get into the smurf village. Well, the Smurfs are your source of inspiration this week at Scrapwhispers. Use the smurf images themselves to create a card or altered project. the colours or as one DT member, Helen did, use the hats for inspiration. I chose to stick with the blue and white colour scheme for this wintery photo of the Boy. I just love this photo and his expression. His eyes really stand out against the snow. Well, I'm off to make Valentines Cupcakes with DD and the Boy (Who incidently has renamed himself as The Big Strong Boy!) Have a great day, whatever you're doing! xx

A sketch

I've had a go at Sketch 142 from Creative scrappers this week. I've used a fair bit of stamping on this layout, somethign I like doing but never do often enough. The stamps I've used are Basic Greys Origin collection. Still following on the scrapwhispers challenge of using up forgotten treasures, I found these stamps tucked away in a tote bag the papers are ones I've had in my scraps box for a very long time. Just a reminder that this challenge will be running until friday, when we will have a brand spanking new one for you

1 4x6 photo

Shimelle Laine is hosting a class at 2 peas called "4x6 photo love". I scrap 4x6 pics 95% of the time so this was too good to pass up. The idea is that once a month you use 4x6 photos, adding one more every month. So for January we are asked to use one photo on a layout. There are also embellishment structure pointers. Here is my one photo layout. I'm quite intrigued on how 12 4x6's will be used in December though.
